A Feast of Food and Fashion
It’s not too late to have long lunch in the sun at Peregian Beach Shopping Village. Tickets to the Peregian Square Food and Fashion Fiesta are still available and the day will be a delight for all the senses. The combined Lions Club of Peregian and Peregian Beach Business Association organising committee have been putting final touches to the event’s organisation.
The participating restaurants have come together to ensure that the best that Peregian Beach eating has to offer will be on show. The menus have been designed to complement the day and the restaurant coordinators John Siljuk and Jan Nankervis have ensured no matter which restaurants are chosen, patrons will be delighted with what is on offer. “We have all worked together to ensure that our guest regardless of where they sit will be very satisfied. Molly’s Cradle Wines, one of the event’s sponsors will be showcasing their award winning wines to complement the food. It will be a day to remember.”
While the foodies have been hard at it, the boutiques have been selecting the best of fashion for the coming season to showcase at the event. Amanda Hall and Sue Priston, the event’s fashions coordinators, have been busy with the 13 boutiques in planning the fashion parade. “We are delighted that we have the support of local modeling agency, Serena’s Image, to showcase the fashions and Therese Burke, a well know local radio and media identity, has generously offered to compere the parade. It’s shaping up to be a great event.”
The Elsoms a local indie duo of Kelly Elsom and daughter Toia in addition to playing some of their original music will be performing a wide variety of classic to contemporary hits. The Elsoms have been receiving national airplay and are a regular attraction at corporate events.
Patrons at the event are not only promised a feast for the taste buds, eyes and ears but also the opportunity to take some great prizes home with them. Local businesses and individuals have donated some fantastic prizes, which will be raffled off during the course of the day. $6500.00 in prizes are up for grabs including; a Noosa helicopter flight, whale watching and Australia Zoo passes, accommodation package including meals, beauty treatments and products, massages and shopping vouchers. Local renowned artists have also donated original artworks, there is definitely a prize for all tastes.
Lions Club of Peregian President Michele Lipner says the response of local businesses has been outstanding, noting “we have been overwhelmed with the enthusiasm of everybody to the event. The restaurants, fashion houses, sponsors and the very generous raffle prizes together with The Elsoms all promise to be a mix for a great day.” Michele went on to say “this really shows what we can do when we all work together and support each other in the community. We are hoping to have a sellout, as all profits will go to raise much-needed funds for local charities and community projects. When you see what is on offer it’s a great way to contribute to the community while having a great day out.”
